Such a beautiful song...

Do you ever rediscover songs that you once loved but, for one reason or another, had completely forgotten about? It's like seeing an old friend again after years of being apart.

I'm not sure exactly why I'm so compelled to share this song with you, and I know it's not for everyone, but I think it's a masterpiece. It manages to capture a moment in time, a beautiful love, so completely.  If you've never heard it before, then I hope you'll take a moment to listen.  I hope you enjoy it.

Note: there is no video--it's just a blank screen (which makes me happy because it doesn't detract from the song).

She's Got a Way
by Billy Joel

She's got a way about her
I don't know what it is
But I know that I can't live without her

She's got a way of pleasin'
I don't know why it is
But there doesn't have to be a reason
Anyway

She's got a smile that heals me
I don't know what it is
But I have to laugh when she reveals me

She's got a way of talkin'
I don't know what it is
But it lifts me up when we are walkin'
Anywhere

She comes to me when I'm feelin' down
Inspires me without a sound
She touches me and I get turned around

She's got a way of showin'
How I make her feel
And I find the strength to keep on goin'

She's got a light around her
And everywhere she goes
A million dreams of love surround her
Everywhere

She comes to me when I'm feelin' down
Inspires me without a sound
She touches me and I get turned around

She's got a smile that heals me
I don't know what it is
But I have to laugh when she reveals me

She's got a way about her
I don't know what it is
But I know that I can't live without her
Anyway

I know this song! It's so nice. I used to be obsessed with Ace of Base and that "I saw the sign" song haha... My friend played it on his ipod and I was freakin' out excited lol.

I love this song, too. I was in a creative writing class once where the teacher illustrated the difference between showing something and telling something by analyzing any Billy Joel song vs any Lionel Richie song (I date myself here). Billy Joel shows you why this woman is wonderful, and why most of us would wish a song like this was written for us.
